About Me

My parents fled Vietnam during the war as the Viet Cong advanced south toward Saigon. They arrived in America as refugees, traveling by boat from Thailand, and settled in Westminster, California—better known as “Little Saigon.”

They were jewelry dealers and owned a brick-and-mortar store in the heart of Bolsa Avenue. Some of my happiest childhood memories were spent in the back of that shop, watching my parents close deals with vendors and clients alongside my two older sisters; Van and Mini Van. The constant buzzing of that heavy metal gate, the steady flow of people coming and going—it was a rare time when we were all together as a family.

Our store, named Lucky Jewelry, became well-known in the community. Everyone called my dad Loc “Lucky” whenever we were out and about. But eventually, things didn’t work out, and my parents had to close the store. Life after that wasn’t quite the same.

Now, with Lucky Watches, I hope to bring back some of those positive memories and carry forward the legacy they built.
